Dinagyang is a festival celebrated every 4th weekend of January in Iloilo City Philippines in honor of Sto. Nino.

It is actually a one week celebration but the Highlights are on the 4th Saturday of January which is referred to as “Kasadyahan” which means Merry Making and of course the “Dinagyang” on The 4th Sunday.

There is beautiful and colorful parades of people dancing in the streets, wearing unique tribal cutoms and shouting “Viva Senior Sto. Nino” and “Hala Bira” On top of their lungs.

Dinagyang is One of my favorite times of the year. Dance, shout, eat and drink all you want and no one is going to stop you…

Hey, Massomeh, it’s Yap. I miss Dinagyang…Or rather, I miss drinking during Dinagyang. But it’s just too cold to go home during winter. Plus, January and February is hectic of snowstorms.

Sure thing, but I won’t be back for sometime. No time for a long vacation, not even for two weeks. But hey, I’ll be here in the web. With that said update your blog so I’ll have something to read at work and, also, add me to your blogroll.
